This piece is designed from clearly tango colors. This one was in an auction in Germany. The blank appears to be a Kralik 1920's cased glass where the orange interior was exposed by acid and hand grinding. If you have pics that are similar please send them to Jerichohair@yahoo.com
A real stunner, Jericho!
Happy New Year!
Thanx, hi-five and a happy new year!
A beauty!
BeA u tiFul! Happy New Year!
stupid question or just poor eyesight onmy part -- is this a silver overlay or glass -- a really beauty as with all your postings
BEAUTIFUL!!

sometimes silver overlay can look like cameo in a pic when it turns black (see other posting of silver deposit cameo)
Cameo for me, for what its worth, is just the technique of revealing the under layers of the glass by carving, grinding, firing or using a chemical to dissolve part of the glass away. Many layers of glass or a solid color can be used with this same technique.
This piece started out black and was cut back to the base red-orange color, the auction company must know something of this example (that i do not) to make the attribution... perhaps it was the shape, the ground rim, the casing colors, the size or all of the above...what i like about it is how glossy everything is. You just don't see that in cameo glass
thanks ks85 & jericho for the info -- just wasn't sure if the dark area was silver or glass i was see in the pics
This one I absolutely love! :)
