When I was 4 years old, I was playing hide and go seek. I hid in the hall closet. As I was waiting to be discovered, I seen a cord dangling in front of my face in the dark closet. Why I decided to pull it, I don't know. I pulled the cord and a uncased fan came tumbling down and struck me in the head. This happened 40 years ago but I remember it as if it happened yesterday. I can see the blood drippings to the floor as i walked to my Grandmother like it if it was a video. My poor Grandmother... ultimately she fixed me right up and I had my first ride in ambulance. How I came across this very dusty fan was up in Northern Minnesota placed on the curb with other items signed free. I spotted it and thought back to that dreadful day I pulled the cord in the closet. I snatched it up for my crazy nostalgia collection of this and that. I've owned for about 10 years. Its always been placed on top of my cupboards, where a lot of my collection of stuff gets placed. I don't know if it works. I didn't care if it did or not, I just wanted it. The last month though, I've been thinking of restoring and cleaning out and been looking for more information. I haven't found a whole lot this is what I know and share with anyone who may be looking too. **The ad I found was dated 1934 and says Blades are machine formed from rust proof steel sheets. Curved to give a maximum air flow and length of a airbeam. Induction type motor, 110 volts, 60 cycles. Switch equipped. Finished in semi gloss lacquer. Pedestal made of cast iron with felt base. Adjustable hinge permits tilting forward or backward for desk position and makes it adaptable for wall mounting. Complete with 8-foot, cord and plug. Multiple Lubrication Seal, a completely revised system of lubrication, eliminating the slightest grease and oil leakage. I hope this helps.. Happy New Years.
