Okay gang, I've had varying opinions on this beer wagon with horses. It belongs to a buddy of mine who said he bought it 30 years ago, and it's been in his attic ever since.
The horses and figures are heavy metal, and they seem pretty old, but there's a tin box inside the wagon that doesn't appear old. There are no brand names anywhere on this toy that I can find, no markings at all. The beer barrels in the back are wooden, and the reins appear to be old leather, but there's a chain that runs along the sides of the horses that looks brand new and is a golden color. Some of the original pins that hold the horses to the rig are missing. It's REALLY dirty since it's been in the attic for so long and I'm afraid to try to clean it with anything.
It's a really neat toy, but I'm lost when it comes to the value. Can anyone give me a value on this? Many thanks...
I wish I knew more about these to be of help. I have one of these myself but, the barrels are plastic and with no leather reins. Mine is a modern copy of an older toy (or so I was told). I know mine is not more than 30 years old. I have an even older dray wagon, pulled by just 4 horses, that was given to me in the fifties, and it was a copy of a turn-of-the-twentieth-century toy. I guess what I'm trying to say is, there are copies of these old cast toys on the market.
It looks like a modern reproduction and was probably new when your friend purchased it 30 years ago.
The rough seams on the figures are the biggest indicator that I can see.

My aunt and uncle had one of these. It has little wooden barrels that go in the wagon. Not sure if it id the Budweiser team or not. Very nice!
