I was wondering if anyone could please help identify this beautiful, porcelian doll for me?..The material she is made of feels like porcelain. She is 25" tall, beautiful, well made, has lifelike details and is jointed. The only identification is on her necklace tag as shown in the photo. It says "claire's". I do not want to remove anything in an attempt to find another indentifier as she is so beautifully dressed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time.
Modern Porcelain Collector Dolls sold from about the 1980s to present, were meant to appeal to adult doll collectors, not children. The theory was; buy it, keep it in the box or debox, but keep it unplayed with, after some time passes, you'll be able to sell it for more money than your original purchase and make a profit. Dolls were easily found in department stores, grocery store toy aisles, card shops, toy stores and on TV from QVC etc. The quantities sold of each collector doll could be large, it's the sheer quantity of all available porcelain collector dolls today, that is determining the current value, as they flood the market place, online and elsewhere.
These dolls have now found their way to; family members, goodwill, garage sales, antique shops, estate sales, etc. and all want to put them up for sell as a collectible, make a few bucks and empty a closet.
these dolls originally came with a COA = Certificate Of Authenticity with the Dolls Name; usually stating their fine bisque quality, the LE; Limited Edition amount of dolls originally produced, a Design Number for the doll. Some dolls may have a marking on the back of the neck, a design number or a cloth tag sewn to the dolls body or a tag inside the clothing if original or doll and clothing maybe entirely unmarked.
Some of these sold for high prices and to find the exact artist would be a challenge and really not worth effort . Claire could be dolls name . She is lovely just display her and enjoy her .
She should be signed on back of her head .

the font on the tag looks like the same font for Claire's Accessories, which is a store that sells inexpensive costume jewelry.
I've checked the clothing...she has on "pantaloons"..her body is cloth but the rest is procelain..no tags on any of the clothing..but when I looked at the very bottom of the stand she is on it says "Monique" and Taiwan. so ...we know she was made in Taiwan and her name is Monique. Thank you everyone for your help.
She is a mass produced porcelain doll and may were exported to USA . Without box nearly impossible to ever know who made her as 100's of artists and companies were producing these types of dolls. The person may have added the necklace as a decoration . But no matter she is pretty doll to look at of sitting on a bed :-) To find company that made her really will serve no purpose it will not affect her value . I would just love her as she is :-)
