Just came across a bowl at a local thrift shop that jumped out at me. So I bought it. Decent size maybe 14in diameter with great hand painted fruit and floral decorations. Paint job is primitive and has a dark patina on it overall. Lots of wear on the stand on the bottom. No makers mark of any sort. Some old small paper labels that are mostly torn off. Remaining letters are: oa-dss... Ao
For what it's worth I did find right next to it a piece of 19th century staple repaired Chinese Export bowl with the sacred bird motif on it.
My inclination is that it is old based on the look but I know it can be faked. And I am hardly an expert in the field. So turning to the web. Any help would be great!
