    Hello I found this item in a cedar chest along with many other treasures. Could anyone tell me about this, It states it is a souvenier. In 1942 the War was going on. Could anyone tell me more about this type of item, please?

      in WWII some of our troops were stationed in libya, egypt and along the african coast -- my dad was one such person and many of these types of souvenirs were sent home to family and loved ones -- souvenirs made by the locals and purchased as trinkets for remembrances

      I love WW2 souvenir embroidery! They were very popular souvenir items with the troops.
