I got this old fridge that came with my house when i bought it. I cannot find much history on the old fridge .I have seen one on the tv show American Pickers i would love to know how much this old fridge would be worth.

does it work?ive seen these go for 800.00 completely rebuilt.scientifically speaking these types of fridges are the best ever made.they should still make them like this.american pickers is a show with cameras and hype to make it seem its all that and then some.not a appraisal.people need to open a book and get out in the world to understand more about what's going on.

Blair, your GE monitor top is a 1935-37, it uses sulfur dioxide as a refrigerant. These are very good and efficient units having the condensers on top so the heat produced doesn't rise into the cabinet. This unit uses around 70 watts when running, normally 13-15 minutes per hr. has foot operated door latch and inside light. If it runs and cools great, if not there are only a few around who will do needed repairs if it's repairable. I have 3 of these 2 that we use and a running spare just in case. they aren't worth as much as one would hope as shipping is an issue and concerns about reliability and the gas toxicity if there's ever a leak!
      regards
      George
