Myself and my mother in law own a resale shop in a small town in Texas, we have everything from clothing to antiques. We have consigners and also the occassional person stops by with something they want to sell and of course some things we just can't pass up. This is one of those items that I got in over my head with because I have no idea of the pianos worth so I thought hopefully I could get some help. First I am not sure if the piano is in working order because, I hate to say it, I have no ideal how to actually make it play. That said I can tell you the gears all move freely, there are two chains on the piano that are in very good condition the music that is on the roll is Hawaiin Lullaby. The date on the inside of the piano says June 10, 1924 and the original price was 750.00. I would really appreciate any feedback I can get on this item. Thank you.

I am not an expert , but I have played one of these that belonged to an elderly friend of mine when I was a girl . There should be a set of pedals behind the lighter colored wood right above the paino pedals that fold out . Those are what you pump to make the piano play . In front of the keyboard what looks like the wood trim should fold down . There should be some leavers there to make the piano play as you pump the foot pedals . If the air hoses are off or have holes in them , or if the bellows have holes in them the piano will not play very well . I used to have to fix my friends piano just about every time I played it . The air hoses would come off a lot when her grandkids got to messing with it . Also the chain that drove the piano roll would come off the gears when they messed with it . If I were closer I would come take a look at it for you .

Thank you so much that really is a big help. I've been anxious to see if the piano plays since the first time I saw it. The hose is in really good condition and the chains look almost new so hopefully it will play.

Let me know if you can get it to play . They sure are a lot of fun . Oh there is one thing I forgot to tell you . There should be a leaver under th front edge of the keyboard that opens the door for the foot pedals , The wood on the door of your piano has been replaced ( hench the different color wood ) So the leaver that should open the door may not work . Just something to look for .

Do you still have this piano? I have a 1927 Hampton Reprotone player piano that belonged to my grandparents. It is missing the ukulele attachment which is the silver tube running horizontally across the inside of the piano. My piano is also missing something called the key lock. Under the keyboard there should be a metal lever that when pulled down or forward locks the keys and keeps them from moving while playing a roll. I would love to get the details on these parts so I can have them duplicated for my piano. Thanks
