I found this item in my grandmothers closet as the title describes. As to what this item is I have no clue! It is roughly a foot tall with the lid in place, about 6-8 inches at the widest part, and about 3-4 inches deep. (Sorry about rough estimates, no meauring tool at the time besides my eyes). There is a screw just below the opening so that the item can be hung on a wall. There is a tap-like attachment on the front that looks to be possibly operational but I cannot turn the lever. The item itself is porcelain. There is not any writing pertaining to a company or person who might have made it. Any information will be helpful!

I believe these were made just as decoration & have no practical function.
