I was told that this glassware is probably from the 1930's and it was called cranberry glass. It is about 21 inches tall and about 5 inches wide. It is in beautiful condition, however I would like to confirm what I was told. I purchased this item at an auction. Also there is a flower etched on it real light colored, not a bright white.

It looks like it has a staining of color....in other words, the color (metal oxide) is applied on then fired to fix the color. Other techniques involved flashing of glass by painting or dipping it into a pot of colorant. It can then be cut to the original base color. Overlay glass would be different layers of colored glass cut to reveal underlaying colors. If the flower had been cut before the treatment was applied, it would give off a lighter hue to the flower. Hold the item to a light source and if you see some clear areas or dots through the red, then it was probably Flashed or Coloyred. RER (LOUMANAL)
