I received this pretty box around 25 years ago from a friend of my grandmother. I have no idea the history behind it and would love any help. Its rectangular shaped almost coffin style with how lid curves. It measures : length- 5 3/4inches, height-2inches, and width-2inches. Outside appears to be stamped with flowers and other designs then handpainted or gold leafed? Not sure. Inside has four slanted compartments also painted gold or leafed. Bottom has imprint MADE IN ITALY. I really didn't know where to start with learning about this box and thought someone might recognize it. Its a beautiful little box. Thanks so much for any help you have.

It's from about 1960s, sold to tourists.
