    Hello everyone. I am wondering if it is possible to ID these chess pieces. I do not know much about chess...or the pieces. I guess what I am asking is what are these made out of? And are the hand made or manufactured? My guess would be that even though they do not look identical, that they are not handmade, but I am not sure. Thanks!

      I think this style is called a Staunton and origianal sets date from 1849.
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Staunton_chess_set
      It was designed by Nathaniel Cook or perhaps it may have been conceived by his brother-in-law and owner of the firm, John Jaques that originally produced them.
