I would really appreciate any info anybody could offer me on this piece. I found it in the basement of the house my wife and I recently purchased and besides a little information obtained from Internet research I have no clue. Thanks
Maybe the predecessor of the "night-light"?
Most of the Nutmeg Miniature lamps I have seen have a wire handle that attaches in the recess just above the name.....you can still see the grey left by the wire handle in the recess area on yours. They were night lights to be used from the bedrooms to the potty areas and usually did not have shades like this one. Some similar night lamps do have shades but the shade would sit on a metal tripod that attached to the burner. These lamps were made in the late 1800's in many colors. Not sure who made them but they are still fairly common. RER (LOUMANAL)
