Unlike my pen (in another category here) I won't be using this one, though my wife loves it!
It's a nice piece of costume jewellery and surely of no particular value.. other than that it belongs in the family.
What interests me, is to know where it comes from. Who made it, and when.. There are no marks and the box is not the original.
Any ideas welcomed..

I m not sure but it looks like a fur clip you can change into a brooch. A fur clip because the of the pins on the back. The style looks art deco-ish to me.
Lots of marcasite and rhinestone jewelry was made in the 20's up till the 40's. Could be from France but I think they made this sort of jewelry everywhere in that period.
It may not be worth much but its a nice piece to have. Not every piece of jewelry has to be gold or silver.
Thank you Newtimes.
It is a lovely piece and the photos don't do it justice. I too feel it has an art deco look, but really know nothing else which could help identify it. France would be an interesting connection, but what is the clue to that?
Many thanks again.
Look up Duette Brooches or clips, you may be able to find more info.
