    A lovely old ivory ruler made in France. I'm not sure how old it is maybe 1930's it's still got the Leather case with a yellow Magnifying glass

      your slide rule is most likely pre-1970s, as the introduction of scientific calculators in the early 70s rendered these obsolete. Prior to the scientific calculator the slide rule was use as a mechanical calculator by engineers and scientist for complicated logarithmic calculations.
