From 1915 Series III Production Number 595 Orangeopal m. schwarz Ausführung 157. Now that's a mouthful. I have wanted an example of this decor but in a nice recognizable form. This one came up recently and my waiting paid off. Because it was made earlier than 1918 it is unmarked. These are almost always attributed to Michael Powolny, but neither Loetz band 1 nor band 2 credit this form to him. It is more likely that Powolny designed the color scheme, which was used on other forms that he did not design (and some that he did). It measures 8 1/4" high by 4 1/2" wide.
The paper pattern photo was taken from Lötz Böhmisches Glas 1880-1940 Band 2 Katalog der Musterschnitte
David : this appears to be similar to the one I posted earlier ?
Love these edible colours...:-)
Well Frank, they're both orange and black. I looked for the shape of yours in the book and didn't find it.
I'm going to have to agree with what the others said. The mark is a little bit different than the Loetz oval. It's the first one I have seen that close to the Loetz mark. And the decoration of the piece is unlike Loetz as well, but it is definitely good quality, whatever it is.
very pretty dlfd911 -- well worth the wait
David : thanks for the info. As you said.......Loetz or not it's a nice Deco piece.
