I happened to be online when CW member bazelmania -- posted a couple of pieces of glassware that he wanted to give away as they were not of his style at present -- my immediate response was "uhhhhhhhhh -- i'm here -- love it here is my email address"
Walther is one of my favorites -- this little guy just showed up in the mail just now -- so just had to share -- the following is information on the company along with a couple of websites to access for additional pics and information:
SPECIAL THANKS TO BAZELMANIA -- SO LOVE MY PAN!!!! THANKS
Walther glass has always been a family concern, started in 1865 Ottendorf-Okrilla (Saxony) by August Walther. The company was initially called Walther and Sohne. In 1932 however Walther merged with Saxonian Glass company and became “Saxonian Glass Factory August Walther & sons AG”, or “Saschsische Glasfabrik August Walther and Sohne AG”. In 1933 production moved to Schwepnitz.
From roughly 1930-1940 they were one of the best known producers of stylish pressed glass items. Their main focus was the production of bowls, vases and figurines in art deco style. But they also made glass pendules, lamps and table sets.
After world war II the company was nationalized and became VEB Sachsenglas. They continued producing pressed glass items, still including the famous art deco designs in their portfolio. In 1972 a new fully automated factory was built, in which current production is still taking place. In 2006 the company acquired Glasax (Schwepnitz). In 2007 they also took over Inn Crystal (Austria).

Today Walther glass operates internationally as one of the larger producers of glass items and goblets. It operates under the supervision of Volker Walther, the 6th generation of the Walther family. The company employees around 650 people and has 3 factories.

It is really beautiful, the girl by the rabbit looks like a downs syndrome girl, probably only I would say this, but her look and almond eyes, really special, maybe the artist had a sister or I do not know, maybe I am wrong. Autumn I really like it. I lived in Fredericksburg Texas for 1 1/2 years and was in charge of the group homes in the hill country. take care Don
