I have no idea? I bought the item at estate sale. I do not know what it is or what it is used for. It has WR-102 craved into the top and on metal strip. There is metal strip that has W.A.R. Co. Can someone please help me out I am totally stubbed on the item. Thank you

I believe this to be a wood pattern used in a foundry for creating the mold for metal castings.
The large hole in the "bottom", is used for a draw spike. Screwed into the wood and pulled on to gently assist in removing the pattern from the sand.
there's lots of foundry molds out there, but very few interesting ones. this one is pretty interesting.
Quite right about it being a foundry mold, It appears to me to be for a coupling that goes on the end of a propeller shaft in a boat and couples up to the gear box. bored out to take the shaft. I have a couple of them here somewhere, I'll dig them out later on and post them. must have been for a fair sized engine.
