This is one large example of Fratelli Toso vase from twenties, it is 23cm high or a bit more than 9in. Usually they come in heights which are half of this one. As is obvious by the repair, the handles are the weak spot of this vase and it probably is good idea never to touch them, most Fratelli vases of that era have some kind of repair to handles, that is a good indication of their fragility.

Thank you MacArt for the advice on my millefiori vase! I was very unsure when I unwrapped it but never having owned one before was not certain. It seems that the millefiori is not within the glass and that it is what you tell me - a recent copy from Eastern Europe! Many thanks for the advice, luckily I never paid too much for it, but it has been an important learning curve, but would still like to own a real one!

wow, what a great piece!
I gaze a at a piece of art like this and wonder how they were able to control the colors in the kiln ...as well as what kind of kiln,. glass ,clay a touch of this and that as well ..lol ..I have a book some where on building kilns which if I have time this summer on my bucket list I;ll build a wood burning one for my wife..rather then a electric and sending the meter through the roof . smiling ...nice Piece of art you have...
