One of my favorite items, but I'm not 100% certain of the attribution. I sent photos to Moser Karlsbad, but they said it was not their work. A glass collector friend told me she thinks it is by Goldberg, and had a photo of a cobalt vase from a book, with some similarities, to back it up.

The vase is a very heavy cobalt crystal with walls about 1/4" thick. It is cut, etched, enameled, and gilded. There are four panels with colorful birds... the peacock, a parrott, a hummingbird, and a bird of paradise. About 7" tall. The base is faceted, hexagonal, and completely flat. Suggestions or additional attibution documentation would be greatly appreciated!

It really is stunning. I am going to bed now but when I wake up I'll cruise my books and museum photographs for similar. the decoration is top notch. I love the four birds. a photograph of the base would be helpful. :) It could be goldberg.. but it wouldn't be my first choice.

      I thought number 3 was a hummingbird?

I went thru all of my photographs and the likely books that something like this might be found in. I didn't see anything quite like it.

To me the quality of decor looks better than what you'd expect of goldberg.

my thoughts are more along the lines of Josephinenhuette, Harrach, Riedel, Pfhol, glasfaschule Steinschonau or something like that.

I don't know what book the goldberg came out of but I know a number of things that had been thought to have been Goldberg before had recently been proven to actually be Pfhol thru some found records.
