this is me many years ago ..(1978 ) on my 1974.. 74 inch shovelhead it was in easyriders magazine and in the wind magazine ... my friend took it up for the photo shoot and they listed him as owner and sat him on it ..(R.I.P. jap ) ...in the in the wind ,it pictured me with my parrot on my shoulder (R.I.P. too much ) ....
I've ridden bikes a lot in my long life(probably long because I don't ride everyday). Never understood why the long front struts as it would make it difficult to make turns & certainly would throw a lot more water in your face. It does look cool, but is that the only reason? I don't even like those fat tractor tyres as it slows down response. Please give me a straight answer.
yeah blunder we seem to grow with age in the 70's that was the cool thing ..but they were more of a bar hopper ..long trips were far and in between.....

That would certainly be more practical for long trips. And there is also a hell of a lot of leverage on the welds of the front frame. That long of a strut would play hell on driving on this island. We have a LOT of "Hardlies" here but don't see that configuration. Kind of looking for a distressed sale myself. I have a high IQ but low judgement factour.

Mike, what issue of Easyrider? I have most of them from the late 70's and early 80's, would look it up and if I have it, you're welcome to it.
Like the reference to the bar runs, we called then T.N.T runs (tavern, new tavern), lol

the bike was in june 77 ..my friends sitting on it .......... and i think in the wind 17 im on it with a parrot on my shoulder ............
