This is a beautiful collectible sketch (hand drawn) by an Indian artist named Jerry Easter. He did 100 each of these and this is I believe number 76 in the series. Can't tell the number in the series from the picture and didn't want to pull them out of of the protective cylinder to check. These were done in the Oregon area or Western United States. I had an Indian Museum in Cherokee NC look at them and they told me they came from that region.

You changed your title format on this sketch. You were using "Indian Art - [printed title on sketch]. Clearly the printed title on this sketch is a single word but it is unreadable at this resolution. One might assume that it is [Bison] but that isn't a certainty. Can you confirm or correct that assumption please? Thanks- Verne

The word on the bottom of the print is Bison so you are correct.

Jerry Easter had the prints done in Albany Oregon where I grew up. The original drawings were done on heavy art board. My father bought 2 of them from Mr.Easter in the 80’s. They are beautiful. I inherited them when he died. Since then I have collected 6 more original drawing that also had numbered prints done.

I have 20 prints including calenders he made. He was my step father in Albany Oregon at one time when i was very little and I have held onto all of these looks like 1982 til about 1984. I am unable to tell what are copies or real but 2 of them are actually signed in pencil. I have 2 original "bury my heart with people" #'s 73 and 72. How do I know out of the 20 I have what are originals? Some are a darker brown print and 3 are a reddish toned

Can clang541 tell me when he passed away, my mom and I have always been curious how he has been, how he lived his life and if he continued to draw. My email address is chathompson1976@gmail.com

To Chathompson: I don’t know if or when he died. However, the last calendar that I have was printed for year 1986. The original are not numbered or done in brown ink. They were pencil.
