I live in a small town in California and there was an ad for our little newspaper saying they were moving from their old location, which they had occupied all my life and I am 45. They were having a sale of items, most of which consisted of old office furniture, nothing exciting. I went on the last day, and the editor told me about this table, and the fact no one wanted it, and they had turned to digital photography, so they had no use for it. She told the assembled crowd if anyone wanted the item all they had to do was haul it out. She said it didn't currently work, but didn't know what was wrong. Since I had my truck, and some of my friends were with me, we decided to take it. Man, this baby is heavy. Solid steel. When we got it to my house, we checked the lights, and found they were burned out. We went to the local hardware store, replaced the lights, flipped the switch, and BAM!, instant craft table for my wife. She is a big time scrap-booker, and has turned the table into her workplace. She loves it, and says all of her scrapbooking friends are now on the lookout for one of their own. The table is out-dated for its intended use, but I am glad I was able to save it from the scrap heap and helped it find a new use. One things for sure, if we ever have a major earthquake, I know what I am hiding under.
Nice Save!
