I originally found this great little Royal typewriter in an antique store and thought, boy, I should create an 1930' or 40's style office look. I started to see scenes in my head from the beginning of Brazil or Joe vs the Volcano. Dark, industrial and heavy muted tones in black and white. Surprisingly the items I found a much lighter feel to them than I originally imagined. I found the phone next which does not have any idenifing information on it, then the fan which is a heavy duty Western Electric and last the clock which is a Big Ben alarm clock by Westclox. I love this brass blade fan, although it puts out so much air, if I turned it on while at my desk, my paperwork would go everywhere. All in all I am very happy with my picks.

A novel... hmm... well let's see now... A classy looking dame, dressed eerily vintage, walks into my office which has recently been outfitted with newly purchased old stuff. She knowingly smirks as she plops down the large leather medical bag on my desk, which has been irritatingly been hiding her legs. She demands that I fill it with unmarked hundred dollar bills or she will post the incriminating photos that she has just hacked from my cell phone to Facebook. Of all the dumb luck...All I wanted to do today was start my novel in my newly decorated office. Sigh.

My gramma had the exact phone in the late 50's..I used to get in trouble listening to the party lines conversations. Good find! You can still use this on a home line today I think. worth about $250.00+. What did you pay? John ;)
Thx Braveheart1954. My grandparents had the part line also. I believe the phone was around $30, so it's a pretty good find. I just really like the style and the weight of it.
