I found this cabinet at a shop here in my town. I fell in love with it and bought it.( I hope i got a decent deal on it). It is a Huge piece of furniture approx. 7 1/2 high, and 6ft long. Made of oak, it has 32 cubby holes at top, 6 larger drawers, and 2 large doors at the bottom. I really don't know what it is. I have been told a Post Office desk, Railroad desk, even a dental desk. I have been trying to research it to find out what it was used for. It is a great conversational piece in my house.
I don't blame you for snapping it up, I would have, if I saw it first. That's one interesting piece of furniture.
Congrats on a nice pick.

I love it..whatever it is!! I think it's an old Post Office piece by the way the drawers lean out. I could store lots of art and craft material in that!!
I was about to say, mail room or an old filing cabinet of some kind. Maybe for medical records. Very cool!
We had something similar in old Library that the index cards were kept in to locate books .
I also remember there being larger drawers and forget now what they kept in them . Below was old Newspapers as I remember . Very Nice piece anyone would love it whatever it is .
