This is an Iroquois China platter with an Elks Club logo on it, for the chapter in Lewiston, Idaho, which is lodge #896 (just looked that up...). We picked this up in the late '70s in Seattle, I think from the Kalberer restaurant supply company. It's got some stains that seem to be in or under the glaze, but we still use it.
Hi Belltown! If there is crazing in the glaze of the platter, you can try a wet paste made with Baking Soda. Smear it over the stained area and let it dry completely. You will find that as the baking soda dries, it pulls out some of the staining under the glaze. You can repeat it a few times. It might not take it all out, but it will improve it. Nice Platter so it's worth trying it. RER (BOB)
Hi Bob:
I will give that a try some evening after work. If it improves things, I'll post an "after" picture for you.
Best,
Ben
