    Am really excited about this find. Found this pitcher on Trilogy Antiques but theirs has a pewter lid. Mine does not have the hole drilled for the lid.
    I read on a web page that 19th century people loved Majolica but 20th century found it "vulger" and banished it from their homes. It has a chip on the handle but for 130 years old I think she is in pretty good shape. George Morleys was in business from 1884 thru 1891. About 6 inches tall.

      Hi justanovice, is in Ohio, he also worked out of wellsville Ohio. Lots of potters in Ohio. I guess that's why so easy to find pottery at auction. Found this in a five dollar box of figurines.

      Oh, I love this pitcher! Imagine being groggy in the morning and being served a plate of hot buttermilk pancakes with fresh butter and warm syrup from this pitcher! Delightful!
