I am tring to find information on this mens long coat. Label reads
" three four one five " and has asian letters aound it. There seems to be white letter stamping hidden in some areas. Beautiful buttons and a very wooly collar. The coat is very heavy and has an inner brown fleece liner that cannot be removed, it is hand sewn in place. The color is the typical green miliary.. my pics do not really show this. Anybody ?
Thanks
Finy
The buttons have the insignia of the Chinese People's Liberation Army - The army of communist China.
Thank you !!! Great start for figuring where it is from !
No problem. Enjoy your research.
Thank you ! Love the research ! : )

If it is indeed Asian, I would say it's based on the M1938 Mackinaw jeep coat.

I don't doubt that it's Asian, what I should have said if it's a Chinese copy of the American design.
The white numbers are not Asian but English . Does this mean it is a replica ? Thank you for posting the link to follow! You all are wonderful !
Hi all, I changed a picture to show a better view of the coat. My " model "could not believe how heavy it is !
Broadly, it belongs to the category of '???' [jun da yi]. Basically a Chinese military coat. If you take clearer pictures, I can translate for you if you like. What did you end up doing with it?
