I am not sure what this is even made out of. I think it may be some kind of stone that has some sort of marbling. The inside is very smooth but feels like it has been dug out. Probably makes no sense unless you can feel it yourself. Is about 8 inches across and maybe 3-4 inches deep. As always your ideas are appreciated. Not even sure what category to list it.

Thanks AmberRose, ho2cultcha, mrmajestic and blunderbuss. Anyone have any ideas what this might be?

It looks African to me too.
    4. nldionne nldionne, 12 years ago
Thanks AmberRose. Maybe it's the zebra stripes:)
    5. Stillwater Stillwater, 12 years ago
Definitely not stone, the marbling is too regular and it doesn't go all the way through. On the bottom you can see that it was the hand of man that created the stripes, can't you see?
    6. nldionne nldionne, 12 years ago
Thanks Stillwater. The stripes are painted, the material it's made from has a lighter shade of gray thru it like marbling.

I once owned a black panther figurine which was hand carved in Kenya out of natural stone. They use agates, marble and granite. Laborious work. It is beautiful!
