Anyone out there familiar with Toyo vases? Thought this was pretty interesting when I saw it. Wasted five dollars? As always, thanks for any and all help.

I found a few when I googled Ikebana modernist Toyo vase. Most of them are going for much more than 5 dollars. I think its a great vase nldionne, and as long as you love it, what's 5 dollars?:)

Thanks Moon. I'm trying to find out about some of the stuff that I just can't live without, time for some if it to go:( I am completely out of space and have pieces tucked in corners or three deep on shelves. That's okay someone will love them like I do:)

Aw shucks nldionne, thanks for the compliment:) My mom was an artist who worked with clay, and is also a very big pottery collector. I have her to thank for much of my knowledge and interest on the subject.

Actually what this one sold for I could buy a cheap tire:) trying to Id some stuff to get rid of. Hate to but there comes a time that you have to make a choice of what you can't live without and what you can. I think my thing is Roseville and trying to complete the 100 top mcCoy collectibles list. Just have way too much. Lots is stuff bought at auction, GW, or SA so can make a few bucks off of it hopefully for more space fir my real passions. Like you said if you're not going to display it properly and show it the love it needs you need to pass it on to someone that can.

Yep, you reached the point I did about a year ago. I have been lucky that I live in a place, Chicago, that has outlets for treasure. It's hard, so hard to let some things go, but once the ball starts rolling...kinda fun. I am currently trying to settle on a new collection. The never ending house construction has shifted where we put things, colors etc. not worried, something will jump at me...it always does. Thinking of (gasp) West German pottery. Haven't decided though.

West German is good. At least I know I'm not a real hoarder:)

Really lovely, I would search this under Toyo Ikebana Vase I found quite a few of them that look similar to this one, particularly one in red that sells for about $65 so I'm thinking you got a good deal -Soul
