The taller one measures 8 3/4", the smaller is 6 1/2". The tall one is 1906 Series II Production Number 3855. The smaller one is 1906 Series II Production Number 3837. I already knew the PN of the smaller one, and looked in the pages before and after it in the new book, hoping to find the tall one in the same general area, and I was rewarded by seeing it on the very next page. Neither form is shown in Ricke II.
hey what page was this on (if you still have that information.) I have a large one of these that I'd like to try and track down.
thanks :)
The tall one is on p. 388, the smaller one on p.387
danke Dave, alas mine is not in there anywhere in that year. there are some that are kind of similar but they are all smaller and narrower in the body than mine and the necks are a bit different in proportion.

and btw, gorgeous! I still don't have a green one.
ah looking again at yours after looking at the book. one of yours is one of the ones that has a similar shape but is different in the book. LOL.
How tall is your blue one?
it's about 12 inches. I think I just found the shape on page 457 but metallin isn't listed
I see what you mean. I have found several with shapes that match yours, but the size is different, except for that one that doesn't list metallin. I wouldn't rule that one out, it's possible they used that shape for only a few pieces and didn't think it worth mentioning. I'm still looking though, between us we shouldn't miss it if it's there.
page 492 has one in a slightly smaller size with no information. paper pattern missing. I think that might be the answer for this one.
Paper pattern missing that is.
Perhaps, but I would have expected it to be in the same area as the other ones of the same decor in the book. And I counted 36 missing patterns just on pp. 388-389, so it could have been any one of those. The later ones listed almost all titania-type decors.
yeah, most likely. check out page 588 and 589 it's full of violet metallin optisch, I can't think of what that looks like off the top of my head. my mental model is always blue green and bronze (or olive green).
they were all for strauss and sons in new york. that's another possibility for mine. some sort of special order. it is decorated unusually.
Have you looking in the back of the musterschnitte where the commissioned pieces are?
I am sure I must have done that at some point in the past with this piece but I'll do it again in case I never did. My memory is terrible.
Never mind, I just went through it and it's not there. The one with the same size and shape that doesn't mention metallin with the decors is the most likely candidate at this point.
Thanks Dave, yeah that's what I am thinking at this point. a page may have been lost from that pattern.
II-2489 is a pretty good match, though the size is a little smaller than yours, but it does list blau metallin optisch as a decor. (p.301)
I like those... Have one with sterling overlay at home. Cheers!
