From what I have seen online the clock is a Ansonia Combatants. But the face of the clock has numbers instead of Roman numerals. My grandmother now deceased left it to me. I would like to get it repaired or learn how to make it work for my kids to pass on.

These double statue Ansonia "Figural" Clocks can be quite valuable if they are in good condition. They usually sell for somewhere around $1,300 on eBay which would be 50-60% of what you might find them selling for retail.

Yours is missing an ornate Urn Clock Topper. Looks like the Urn Neck has been broken off. That's not uncommon with these types of clocks.

The combatant on the right should have a sword, the one of the left wields a mace or club of some type.

The catalog photo also shows the base with four "feet" which were commonly used by Ansonia with it's Figural Clocks. They screw into the base and allow for a wide range of leveling.

An Overhaul of the Clock's movement is not difficult and shouldn't cost an arm and a leg...replacing the missing parts is what would be expensive.

As is, your clock might sell at auction for somewhere around $300-$400 so you could potentially invest quite a bit and still not be 'under water' with it...but that would all be speculative. It has heirloom value to you.

There just so happens to be an eBay Seller who makes replacement parts for Ansonia Clocks. I collect Ansonia Clocks and I know that these parts are very hard to come by so you may want contact this Seller to see what he may have to offer: http://myworld.ebay.com/perfectpartsonly/

I'm not personally familiar with his work and so this is not an endorsement of any kind, but it is an option.

      Good luck!

Here's another good option for the Urn: http://timesavers.com/i-8949647-large-ansonia-statue-urn.html

These parts come unfinished so you would need to paint or finish them to match your existing dark "bronzed" color. One option would be to contact: http://www.sculptnouveau.com/ Explain what you're trying to do. They have excellent metal paints and finishes.....

You still there Charlene? If you're looking for a clock repair shop, try the NAWCC online business directory. You can search for repair shops by geographical area. The NAWCC doesn't endorse the businesses which list with them, but very generally speaking, if someone is going to advertise to "Collectors", they really need to know what they are doing. Word of mouth usually trumps paid advertising every time. Here is the link: http://nawcc.org/index.php/business-directory

If we've answered your questions/concerns, please take a moment to mark your listing as "Solved". If not, fire away. What else would you like to know?
