This 1951 Barber Chair came out of my Father in Laws Barber Shop in Raton, NM. He still has the original paperwork for it and the child booster seat. I use to sit in this in his shop and get my hair cut. When he retired I took this chair, which is still fully functional. These can only be move by lifting straight up, you cannot tilt them or the Hydrolic Oil will come out of the base. It still fun to sit in and watch TV. When he comes over he still sits in it and I believe he really enjoys seeing it again since it was a major part of his life. It was mfg by Emil J. Paidar Company out of Chicago. The marks you see on the front is dirt from where his customer would sit and get their hair cut, didn't feel right to clean it. The marks on the back top is where he would put his hand to move the chair from the front to the back where the mirror on the backbar was so the customer could see the haircut.
When I was a kid I used get my hair cut at and an old traditional barber shop in Lake Butler,Florida. I loved hearing all the grown ups talking the latest gossip and politics. Good memories
Thanks for all the love and likes. Nice to hear from FDM. Great person.
