Not sure of the date, but it takes pennies, nickles and dimes and it still works. Got this at an antique store off of Route 66 in Amarillo, Texas.

I plugged money into one of these things in Eureka Springs, Arkansas not long ago. They are still around. It's a neat little community.
No key but it will open with a flat screw driver so I can get the money out and reuse it.
