Coin silver cup and plate, monogrammed "John B. Daggett" in Gothic Revival script. By W. K. Vanderslice & Co, 810 Montgomery St in SanFrancsico, CA. Each piece approximately 170 grams. Interior gilded and in fine condition. I bought it at the Salvation Army for 10 bucks for the set. I love the idea that this actually belonged to someone over 150 years ago.

Well you know, I also wonder this but I have discovered that the Daggett family is rather large and spread out. I doubt there is any way to find out. I prefer to think this cup belongs to the Batman character who tries to put Bruce out of business (John Daggett also). Hahaha. Thanks for your comment and whover John was, I think his parents had mighty fine taste!
