Greetings: I have owned this vase for about 10 years. It is 10" tall and fairly thick-walled with an indented pontil. I have received many different opinions as to origin. Please help ???. Regards

Looks Bohemian... maybe Kralik?
the base of this piece makes me think much newer. it appears to have been made with one of the newer snap away pontil rods that leave these really clean pontil scars with no need for grinding or polishing.
So I'd go with some sort of studio glass.
Hello: Thanks for the comments. While I am no expert, I am an advanced collector and not exactly a novice. Like I said, there are differing opinions concerning this vase, but to me, the vase just does not have a modern feel to me. Regards.
I have no idea :) But it is gorgeous!
IMHO modern studio Glass
Hi Belllin68 it means :-
In My Humble Opinion. ( IMHO )
As already stated, thi sis Kralik
Howdy: The battle continues - Kralik vs modern glass! Keep the comments coming - maybe someone will locate a picture. Regards.
I think just because a dealer on ebay says that these are Kralik does not neccessarily mean they are . I have seen very similar by glass artist her in OZ
this may be the pair Czehman saw.

Yo: I'm fairly new to "collectors weekly". Do all of your postings generate this much controversy? It seems to me that Alfredo, in referencing a Ketterer (well-respected auction house since 1954 and based in Munich) Catalog of 1979, with attribution to Kralik, along with expert opinion from czechman, and my finding on an Ebay offering by City-Antik (Vienna) 100% positive feedback = Kralik!
definitively Kralik
Hi Noootch , not all listings on CW generate all this interest. There is a very strong Bohemian / Art Glass collecting circle on here , and at present there seems to be a war raging .
My Opinions are just that , They are based on my 40 years of being an antiques dealer and collector . whilst my Bohemian collecting may only be arround 10 years I have collected and handled glass for most of the 40! ..
I want to distance myself from anything that may be viewed as a "war" My opinions on this piece are based on other items I have seen with markings. It has nothing to do with anyone here *personally*
Everyone else is entitled to their opinions as well and I respect those opinions. They just aren't mine.
I've been right, I've been wrong.. So has everyone else on this forum... the world keeps turning. I think there can be various opinions on an *item* without it being a personal assault of any kind.
(I am pretty confident I am right though ;) ) But if it turns out I am not right...water off a ducks back and all.
More than anything glass collecting seems to attract very strong personalities with very strong opinions and it's like bulls locking horns when they meet. :) So yeah, sometimes you see controversy spring up over a piece. From the title or body of your first thread it seemed to me like you were expecting it. Lots of contrasting opinions..
What I find odd to be ignored by everyone is that Pontil scar. They didn't start using that gadget until the 60's. (at least if what I think I am seeing is what I am seeing. it looks like it was cut and polished around the pontil scar to make it sit level and the pontil scar itself is untouched but fairly tidy with a neat little ring around it.
that is typical of studio pottery from the 60's til now. the gadget leaves a very clean scar that needs no clean up so they don't bother with the polish and cut over it.
Studio glass... not pottery. :)
Hi GSN I too do not want to be part of a WAR , but it seems to me that is what is happening and like wars there are innocent bystanders being caught in the line of fire .
I shall now bow out ...
Hi Czechman , I agree with your statement
"" everyone is entitled to their own opinions.. and its ok to agree to disagree :) ""
BUT Find that every time I express my opionion it is greeted with what I perceive as hostility or ridicule. This is my last on this subect .
CW is no longer enjoyable .
