A claret jug designed by Christopher Dresser circa. 1870s. The silver plate is made by Hukin and Heath (see H & H mark). Quality is in the detail, the handle terminates against the glass and has been carved to fit flush with the ripples in the glass.
Unlike my other Dresser claret jug, this one was a total bargain at £40. It was sitting just in the entrance to a rather smart antiques centre and I was surprised no one else had snapped it up. It's mine now, and it's lovely.
Wonderful piece!
