These are my husbands newest passion. The three big ones are labled from Plymouth hollow and thomaston which I think was Plymouth hollow renamed in 1865 to honor Seth Thomas. They are straight from auction so pardon the dust and lot stickers.
Thanks for all of the loves bellin
Thanks Officialfuel.
Thanks blunderbuss2!
Thanks pe-collector.
And thanks again
Congrats on your acquisitions, looks like an Ogee, Column and Adamantine Mantel!
Could you post a couple of additional photos of the first clock?
Will send ASAP bruce99. We did have it worked on and it does run with all original parts. The clock repairman told us it was unusual to have two posts on each side. Hope that turns out to be a good thing. We know nothing about clocks and the repair guy fixes them but does not appraise or give too much info to you about them. The other three will be going to be worked on soon. Thanks for the info. Talk to you soon.
Bruce why are there three winder holes ( not sure what they are called) in the small clock
nldionne, could you also post more photos of that clock? Where is the third hole? Is it over by the "3" and is it the same size as the other two? If so, you probably have a Sonora Chime. If the third hole is much smaller than the other two, (above the "6") it is for regulating the speed of the clock. You should have a double-ended winding key for this clock. The large end for winding the mainsprings. The smaller end for regulating the clock speed. Be very careful turning the regulator. It should turn very easily (unlike the mainsprings). Do NOT force it to turn because you have tremendous leverage with the key and can easily strip the small brass gears involved in the regulation mechanism. This clock may also have an adjustable pendulum bob. If so, use it for coarse speed adjustments and the regulation arbor above the "6" for fine adjustments. Enjoy!
Hi bruce, yes the hole is smaller and below the six. Thanks so much. Sorry for the delay getting back, family business. Am posting more of other clock.
Also have the two ended key.
Thanks scott
Hole is above six.
