Okay, I have had this for probably 30 years and have shown it to numerous people with no one having a clue as to what it is.
It looks like milk glass, the stem is about 5 inches long and has a round cap on one end that screws off. The only marking is an arrow and the word "Top" on the fixed end of the stem , see last photo.
I thought something to do with bottles or cookware but no ideas of purpose.
Any help would be appreciated even if it's a wild guess.
An item like this has been posted before almost a year ago I believe. Check out this website: http://www.nia.org/notins/nons2.htm It's a ceramic coffee filter. Now you can hunt for the rest of it! :-)
Bonnie you rock! Wow, mystery for ages and Bam, you are on it! Love this site
When I saw the picture, I recognized seeing something before....It was one of those things I couldn't let go until I knew what it was. Love this site....learn so much from here. Makes me not want to get rid of anything!
Makes me buy too much! You are shining star!
Bonnie, Thanks SO much for taking the time to help me. I was on the right track, just couldn't figure it out. The patent drawings look to be a much larger unit than the Kent model shown in the box.
This gives me the info needed to search for the box and more info on the item.
