A pair of Victorian a pair of bottle shaped amethyst decanters from 1850s to 1870s with ribbed bodies and polished pontil marks. The stoppers are cork and brass with mother of pearl inserts with Claret and Brandy written on them in gothic letters. The stoppers were probably originally silver plated and the decanters were probably originally in a stand and there were probably more of them. They are 13 inches tall.
Worried about boring you with decanters I haven't any on for a while, so I thought I would put these babies up for you, just to remind you where my true love lies. Yes they are, aren't they.....
These are a beautiful pair. Love the colour amethyst!
Fabulous..Fabulous colour!...:-)
Gorgeous!! Love this stunning color
Very Nice
What a Gorgeous colour & shape.
Yes they are lovely. I also have quite a few of the mother pearl stoppers. ALthough I added these the decanters were never ground for stoppers so would have started life with ones like this or very similar.
