This is an Irish turnover bowl. Circa. 1810. It has a square press moulded pedestal foot. It has quite intense cutting on the bowl and turnover edge.
This is a classic signature piece of glass and shows Irish glass cutting getting into it's stride with such a technically difficult piece to do.
I bought this at Christie's in London over 15 years ago. This the kind of thing you come away with if you go to a posh auction and get carried away. Still not regretting though.
