This one is from Plymouth Hollow so assume it is prior to 1866. Repairman seemed to be interested in the two columns on each side. Any info would be great. All original parts and does run.

From what I can see, it looks like you have a Seth Thomas "Column No. 1" circa 1863. It is described by Tran Duy Ly as an early four column with brass movement. 30-hour, weight driven with wooden dial...unusual for Seth Thomas. This style of case was popular about 1850. He appraised it at $450 in 2005. That would be for an all original, mint example. They usually don't sell for anywhere near that is a standard reference respected by many clock collectors. Here is an example that I found which sold at auction for $108 with buyer's premium included ($90 hammer price). Here's a link to one of the listing photos: http://p2.la-img.com/289/16218/5438898_1_l.jpg

It's a very nice, unusual column clock. Thanks for sharing more photos of it.

nldionne, did you mean to say "gongs" going off all over the place? :D

(Smile) yes bruce99 I meant gongs. Does sound like I am talking about something else doesn't it:)
