By the great kindness of our Chicago Christmas Elves, I am pleased to present my beautiful glass Infant Jesus in Manger. He is beautiful! (You might not know it, but the manger in my first glass nativity posting was really an eye cup that I used because I didn't have a manger.)
I love the gesture of the hand raised in blessing and the bright gold suffusing his person. This is a splendid complement to the wonderful glass nativity! The divinity of the Christ Child is emphasized both by the gold accents and by the fact that he's of a slightly larger scale than the other pieces. This places the emphasis on Him alone. The Prince of Peace -- here as a tender, vulnerable but divine child.

I saw it and knew you had to have it. The funny story was that he had three price tags on him at the Good Will. Significantly different, from several dollars, to a couple of dollars to much less than a dollar. I decided to leave it to chance. I brought Jesus to the cashier and revealed the many prices. She said "well Jesus should be affordable" and scanned the most cost effective ticket. I looked at her, and she looked at me and we shared a laugh. Just perfect.
