I was not to sure what to call this one . It is Mother of Pearl vase decorated with green iridescent threading and rasberry red prunts.
The clear applied handles have a light iridescence as well. 7 "high
Thanks to Greatsnowyowl I now know this is Loetz and not Kralik which was my first thought !
This one is unusual, Marty!
Love all of them Marty, you have been busy buying and photographing!! : )
Have you run out of shelving yet - or places to hang them??!
Thank Vet and Justanonice.
I had to clear out my main display case at the end of last year and move a lot to another one which meant i had to move all the stuff that was in that one ...! Juggling glass!
Love it!! I'll trade for my flower frog LOL
what is the base like? I'll look thru the loetz book for you when I get a little time. There is one in PMC with this threading and that kind of jewel glob in the threading on this kind of glass.. I think this might very well be Loetz not Kralik.
Hi GSN that would be a nice surprize!
The base is molded no pontil.
Thanks Bellin and Slave and to all those lovers
Hi GSN I just added a photo of the base.
on page 792 and 793 there are a number of sketches of very kralik looking pieces. the description for the ones like yours (there are two shown on this page) is 144 beinweiss glatt mit moosgrun gesponnen und kaiserrote perlen. for anton ohlert in berlin.
There are a few pages in this book with some very very kralik like pieces that I've kind of been keeping my eyes open for. Lots of thorn vases and flower vases and drippy vases cut from the top (and by the other vases like the one pictured in this thread are also cut from the top)
I just love this vase...:-)
Hi GSN I checked that out and very similar not same shape but the description fits.
Nice one Marty.
