I was looking for a display case, curio cabinet to display some of my signature golf balls. After seeing an antique fabric dye display on a popular antique television show I set out looking for a similar type of display. I described to my wife what I had hoped to find and we went antiquing together, for the first time. We had the space, in our living room, already pick out. With an idea in my head and measurements in my note pad, we entered the first shop. This place was wonderful, even with their lack of old golf balls. I was like a kid who found the toy store for the first time. As I was looking at everything, my wife was on her mission to find the perfect arts and crafts style display cabinet. She stepped into a small room, seconds later waves me over and says, “Here it is!” It was this very cool barrister bookcase, just the right style, just the right finish, and it could not have fit it’s allotted space any better. The shopkeeper had even dressed it up with resin cast of the golf ball evolution, this had to be sign.
After looking at a number of new items, none of which were built with such quality and cost twice as much as I sent on my new, new as in better then a new one, Globe-Wernicke barrister bookcase.
I will post an update when get it filled with old golf balls.
