Rare Prussian Garde Kuraissier Reservist's Schnapps flask, owned by Reservist Proglcha, who served in this elite regiment's 4th Squadron garrisoned in Berlin from 1909-1912. Porcelain inserts on both sides of the flask are secured with white metal rings. Depicted on the inserts are a mounted Kuraissier in full dress uniform to include the famous eagle-topped helmet, the reverse shows three members of the regiment out on the town. The cup is surmounted with a detailed pewter eagle, and the flask has it's original carrying cord with fringe. Some age here and there, overall in very good condition. These flasks were apparently purchased by the soldiers in lieu of a beer stein, just as some opted for a Reservist's pipe.
