Pictured is a bronze-over-metal bookend with felt backing from the 1920s. This style was extremely popular in the Art Deco era. The depicted scene is modeled on a painting by Jean-Francois Millet entitled "Angelus."

I had 6 (3 sets) of these 10 years ago in iron and bronze... ranging in different hgts. I sold all 6 on ebay for $35 + $12 to ship.

Until recently I didn't know that these bookends went for that much! (I was thinking more in the $10 range.) I have the second bookend that goes with this one but I can't find it. :(

They were really common 10 years ago. People now are holding on to them. They were about $15 for a set then. I haven't seen or heard anything about them till now. I'd guess $30-$35 a set maybe more now.
