I purchased this lovely some years ago from an auction. The only thing I know about it is it is COPELAND LATE SPODE, date code says it's 1905. I have been searching, but cannot find anything like this. Was wondering if it was part of a series, because the image is so strange. A girl crying in the street holding a hula hoop. With a strange little man in the background. The signs say something like "toms ye pipe" and on the building"YE BLEW BOARD". Very strange to me. Any info would help.
    THANKS FOR LOOKING!

oh, that makes more sense:) I thought hula hoop was a stretch. Maybe I can find something using your info. Thanks so much!

The ring would probably be referred to as a "tire" or "tyre" for your reseach. Crying? You know how females are so don't worry about it.

Hey it's more then I know:) And I think that's why it confuses me, it should be the boy crying, not the girl Blunderbuss:) ha ha

Then he is crying because of the lacy collar he is being forced to wear. Actually the shirt/blouse laps over from lft. to rt. which indicates a male.(reason for that if you don't know). Actually I thought my chauvinist remark would stir up something. A let down so far.

Aha a boy! That would explain the poor sportsmanship, the crying and the ugly outfit. :)

Tom, Tom the piper's son stole a pig and away he run
The pig was eat, and Tom was beat
then Tom went roaring down the street

An old nursery rhyme from my youth in the Uk, could be a series of nursery rhymes?

      PS roaring= crying

Wow mary thank you! I started to look into the nursery rhymes and felt it would take me forever. I used to pride myself on being a good googler, but knowledge like that, I would have never found. Thanks to all who have been helping me, I feel we are getting very close! I will search with my new info, thanks again!
