This is one of the very few items my mom was able to save for me. She brought it to Canada about 4 or 5 years ago. It is originally from my dad's mother. Although she was very, very old I am not sure if it belonged to her or her mother. It is a very well made locket, decorated with black enamel and dark seed pearls. My grandma told me that it is not gold and it has no markings. When my mom went to a jeweler to buy a chain before giving it to me, the jeweler want to buy it from her for a rather large sum of money. Does anyone have an idea how old it could be? Thanks for looking :)
Its victorian. I think its about 1850-1880's. Nice locket. The form is intresting. You mostly see ovals, rounds and heart shaped lockets. But you can still find them now and then looking like this one. What does the inside look like?
Thanks, Newtimes. I newer asked my grandmother where she got it from. If it is as old as you think, it must have been her mother's. The inside has two compartments for pictures.
Thanks again :)
Thanks, DrFluffy. I am glad you like it! :)
Sorry for the late response. I have not checked this posting for a long time. Many thanks:
