This straight Razor dated 1919, is quite a fascinating piece that I purchased at a garage sale, simply because of it's possible novelty factor. The razor measures about 3.5 inches long folded and has a carved bakelite handle. The inscription on the blade reads compliments of GE Winton Company.
The leather case reads "The Challenge Cutlery Company, Bridgeport, CT"
I purchased this at a garage sale in Fairfield, Connecticut. GE Headquarters is located in Fairfield, so I believe it has something to do with General Electric or one of their brands from that decade. I only know that Winton appeared to be a railroad company.
If anyone has any historical background about this piece and how GE and Winton were tied together, I would be super appreciative for you input! Thanks, Shelly
A side note: it's either Winton, or Minton.
